ST. PETERSBURG, FL — FC Dallas has secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with an impressive 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
Logan Farrington made a significant impact by scoring his second goal of the tournament, while Patrickson Delgado also contributed with his first professional goal. Maarten Paes stood out with a remarkable performance, registering eight saves and achieving a career-high in U.S. Open Cup play.
FC Dallas Head Coach Nico Estévez, who expressed his satisfaction with the team’s advancement to the quarterfinals. He highlighted the significance of this achievement, emphasizing that it has been a few years since FC Dallas last qualified for this stage of the U.S. Open Cup. Estévez also acknowledged the challenging nature of the competition, recognizing the difficulties faced by all MLS teams in their respective matches.
