Monique Billings Double-Double Pushes The Dallas Wings Past The Los Angeles Sparks 84-83

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Dallas Wings secured their second road win with a narrow victory over the Los Angeles Sparks. Dallas saw contributions from nearly every player, with all starters finishing in double figures.

Arike Ogunbowale led the way with 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists. She was followed by Billings with 18 points, Maddy Siegrist with 15, Teaira McCowan with 12, and Sevgi Uzun who added 11 points.

The game was tightly contested, but the Wings managed to close it out in the last 16 seconds. Following an 8-2 run, Ogunbowale was fouled and made one of two free-throw attempts. Lexie Brown attempted a last-second three-pointer for the Sparks, but her effort was unsuccessful.

Prior to facing the Sparks, Ogunbowale scored 40 points in the Wings’ win over the Phoenix Mercury. Although her shooting percentage dipped, she made crucial shots to secure the game. At halftime, the Wings led by seven points, 49-42. The Sparks managed to take a one-point lead in the final minutes after a layup by Dearica Hamby, making it 78-76.

Despite the loss, the second overall draft pick and leading scorer Cameron Brink achieved a career-high 21 points, including three three-pointers, assists, and blocks. Hamby added 19 points with 13 rebounds, while Lexie Brown contributed 12 points and Li Yueru chipped in with 10 points.

UP NEXT: The Dallas Wings will conclude their five-game road trip with a matchup against the Connecticut Sun. The game is scheduled for Friday, May 31st, with tip-off at 6:30 p.m.
