Micah Parsons Notably Absent From Cowboys OTA’s

FRISCO, TEXAS — Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons has been making headlines due to his absence from the team’s organized activities (OTAs). Instead of participating in the team’s program, Parsons has opted for a personalized training regimen outside the facility. Despite this decision, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has expressed confidence in Parsons’ preparation and physical condition.

McCarthy stated, “Micah looks to be in really good shape. It’s a new defense, and we have work to do. He’s engaged, and we’ll be ready when it’s time.” This vote of confidence from the coach indicates that Parsons’ absence doesn’t seem to cause concern within the team.

The Cowboys are implementing a new defensive system under New Defensive Coordinator Mike Zimmer this year. In the 2023 season, Parsons showcased his skills by recording 64 total tackles, 18 tackles for a loss, 33 QB hits, and a career-high 14 sacks. This performance has raised expectations for his role in the upcoming season.

While his absence has raised questions, Parsons plans to participate in the second week of OTAs and Dallas’ upcoming minicamp. His focus on personal training reflects his determination to prepare optimally for the 2024 season. As the Cowboys gear up for the new season, all eyes will be on Micah Parsons and his impact on the team’s defense.
