FRISCO, TEXAS — On July 4th, FC Dallas secured an exciting 3-2 win against the Portland Timbers at home, with 19,096 fans in attendance at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
The win improved FC Dallas’ record to 1-4-1 when trailing at half-time in MLS this season.
In the 49th minute, forward Petar Musa scored, bringing the score to 1-1. This goal was his fifth in the last four matches, making his total this season 10 goals. He is now the 12th player in the MLS to reach this milestone. Musa expressed, “I am happy with my goals but for me, it’s not just about the goals. We want to win every single game, and I want to help the team. I’m more focused on winning every game. So if I score, I’m happy, but it’s more important that we won.”
Musa is the seventh FC Dallas player to score 10+ goals in his first season.
FC Dallas Interim head coach Peter Luccin stressed the team’s need for more resilience and activity on the ball, especially when facing high-level players like Evander.
FC Dallas will play at Sporting Kansas City on Sunday, July 7 at Children’s Mercy Park at 7:30 PM CT.
