DALLAS, TEXAS — SMU tight end RJ Maryland and linebacker Kobe Wilson earned Preseason Second-Team All-American honors from the College Football Network, while defensive end Elijah Roberts received honorable mention. Maryland excelled in the 2023 season with 34 receptions for 518 yards, earning him five preseason accolades. Wilson led the team in tackles last year and was named a Preseason Second-Team All-American Special Teams. Roberts, after an impressive 2023 season, was named a Preseason Honorable Mention All-American.
