DALLAS, TEXAS — SMU quarterback Preston Stone has been nominated for the Unitas Golden Arm Award and the Manning Award. He had an outstanding season last year and has been recognized for his achievements.
Last season, Stone led the Mustangs to their first conference championship since 1984. He achieved career highs in passing yards, amassing an impressive 3,197 yards, and touchdowns, throwing 28 throughout the season. Stone’s exceptional performance earned him a remarkable 90.9 passing grade from Pro Football Focus (PFF), surpassing all other American Athletic Conference (AAC) quarterbacks. Additionally, he led the conference in big-time throws with a total of 30, and ranked fourth in passer rating with an impressive 110.0.
