FC Dallas Take D.C. United

WASHINGTON, DC — FC Dallas is back in action, having last taken the pitch 25 days ago in a Leagues Cup midseason tournament match up with FC Júarez that added another loss to Dallas’ 2024 season.

It’s been over a month—34 days to be exact—since the club played a Major League Soccer game. It was a 1-1 draw with the New England Revolution in Massachusetts, but now it’s a date with D.C. United in our nation’s capital.

Making the playoffs is now FCD’s main focus, looking to earn their third-consecutive trip to the postseason. FCD is currently 11th in the Western Conference, sitting seven points out of the automatic playoff spots and three points behind the play-in game.

Players like Jesús Ferreira, Alan Velasco, Asier Illarramendi and Patrickson Delgado have returned from injury over the break. Ferreira gets to reunite with Petar Musa, the two having contributed 23 goals and assists so far this season.

D.C. is currently 13th in the East, and are coming off a Leagues Cup Round of 32 loss. Before the tournament, they won back-to-back MLS games, but have conceded a conference-high 50 goals this season.

A familiar face you’ll be seeing in the black and red is Lucas Bartlett, who FCD selected 6th overall in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft.

It’ll be a showdown between the East and West, with postseason play hanging in the balance.

Kickoff at Audi Field is at 6:30 p.m.
