FORT WORTH, TEXAS — TCU kicks off Big 12 Conference play this Saturday against the University of Central Florida in their first-ever meeting on the football field.
Both teams bring significant offensive power to the matchup. UCF added Arkansas transfer KJ Jefferson at quarterback this offseason, a move that has proven effective. Jefferson has thrown for 333 yards in two games, both decisive wins over the University of New Hampshire and Sam Houston State. The Knights are also averaging more than 8 yards per carry this season, and Jefferson’s dual-threat ability makes him a key factor in both the passing and rushing attacks.
For TCU, the game will likely come down to its defense’s ability to stop UCF’s run game. In their season opener against Stanford, the Horned Frogs allowed quarterback Ashton Daniels to rush for 87 yards and complete several deep passes. However, TCU’s offense has been strong, proving it can keep up with nearly any opponent. Running back Cam Cook rushed for three touchdowns last week, and quarterback Josh Hoover has 620 passing yards so far this season.
It will be a battle between two star-studded offenses Saturday at Amon G. Carter Stadium, with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m.
