FRISCO, TEXAS — A midweek matchup between FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake could be classified as a revenge match.
Despite Dallas being undefeated in the past five consecutive matches with Salt Lake, their last meeting back in May, at Toyota Stadium, is surely one FCD is wanting to right when in Sandy, Utah. Last time these two played, FCD was up 3-0 before conceding three goals in the final 30 minutes of play, only earning one point—a disappointing draw on home soil.
Luckily for FCD, America First Field is a place they’ve won at in each of the last two seasons. While RSL sits in fourth in the Western Conference, boasting a 9-3-1 home record and having had an overall strong season under head coach Pablo Mastroeni, they’ve only won once in their last six league games; their most recent result being a 4-1 loss at Houston Dynamo FC.
FCD is five points below the play-in game, being in 10th place in the West, so a big three points is needed to keep their postseason dreams alive heading into their last six games of the regular season.
Kickoff at America First Field is at 8:30 p.m.
