Chandler Morris showcased his talent by throwing for 305 yards and two touchdowns, while Makenzie McGill’s exceptional performance included three touchdowns from runs of 24, 4, and 2 yards.
This win puts North Texas at a favorable 1-0 lead in the all-time series after the teams’ first-ever meeting. The game drew an announced attendance of 27,049, making it the fifth-highest number in the history of DATCU Stadium and the seventh most in UNT history. With this victory, UNT’s record now stands at 3-1, tying for the 10th best record through four games in program history.
Under Eric Morris, the team has shown remarkable strength, now standing at 6-1 when leading at the half and 7-0 when leading after three quarters. This win also marks the 10th time in 16 games under Morris that UNT has achieved at least 500 yards of total offense.
