BROOKLYN, NY — Dallas Trinity FC and Brooklyn FC will face off the first time on Wednesday.
To kick off Dallas’ next four on the road, they start in the Empire State.
DTFC is coming off a 6-2 win over Lexington SC, where Dallas scored six goals—the most in a game for a single side in USL Super League history. Allie Thornton found the back of the net three times, making her the first player in Super League history to tally a hat trick, now leading the league in goals scored with three. Chioma Ubogagu scored two goals for the league’s first brace in history, and she is second in goals scored behind Thornton. The eight total goals scored between DTFC and Lexington are the most in a game in league history.
While plenty of history went down in the books last week, there is more to be made ahead.
Wednesday’s game will be the first midweek match of the season for any team in the Super League. It will be Brooklyn’s home opener, and first time BFC plays under new head coach, Jessica Silva.
BFC is also coming off a win, having defeated the Tampa Bay Sun 1-0.
DTFC is also finally getting to play under a new coach—their head coach, Pauline MacDonald, who had trouble getting to the States while waiting for her VISA. General manager Chris Petrucelli was serving as the acting head coach up until last week, when MacDonald arrived.
Dallas and Brooklyn are two of the league’s three teams who have not lost yet this season—the other, being Carolina Ascent.
The battle of the unbeatens kicks off at 6:00 p.m. CT.
