Dallas Trinity FC Secures 1-0 Victory Over Fort Lauderdale United FC

DALLAS, TEXAS — In a thrilling Saturday afternoon match at Cotton Bowl Stadium, Dallas Trinity FC edged Fort Lauderdale United FC with a late 1-0 victory, thanks to a dramatic goal from academy player Sealey Strawn. This win brings Dallas Trinity’s record to 3-1-4, with thirteen points, and strengthens their third-place standing in the USL Super League.

Strawn’s First Professional Goal Proves Decisive

Seventeen-year-old Sealey Strawn, currently a player for Solar Soccer Club in the ECNL, made her mark in the 87th minute by scoring the first professional goal of her career. Her strike sealed the game for Dallas, ensuring a crucial three points in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 3,130 fans. Reflecting on her goal, Strawn said, “As soon as it hit the back of the net, I was jumping over the keeper and as I landed, that’s when it hit me. I let out the biggest yell. I was so happy having the game-winning goal. I’m not only happy for myself but for my team, and the excitement is through the roof.”

Head coach Pauline MacDonald praised Strawn’s performance, noting the confidence young players bring to the game: “Young players play without fear, and every time we’ve given Sealey an opportunity, she’s played without fear. I’m just so happy for her this evening.”

Second Clean Sheet for Madison White

Goalkeeper Madison White recorded her second clean sheet of the season, building on her standout performance in the club’s first-ever clean sheet, a 0-0 draw against DC Power FC on October 16. White acknowledged the importance of the win in such a close league, saying, “We needed to get three points, especially with how close the standings are. It feels good to get three points and finally know that everything is starting to click as we move up the standings.”

Notable Team Performance

Dallas fielded 15 players in the match and continues to be a formidable presence at home with a 2-0-2 record this season. Forward Allie Thornton spoke to the team’s progress, stating, “I still think this is the beginning as we are just starting to click and starting to gel… the trajectory is up and there are good things to come.”

Looking Ahead

Dallas Trinity FC will next travel to Lexington, Kentucky, to face Lexington SC (2-5-2, eight points) on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Lexington Stadium. With a chance to gain more points in the standings, Dallas hopes to carry this momentum into another strong performance on the road.
