DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Mavericks continued their hot streak with a commanding 119-99 victory over the Chicago Bulls, marking one of their largest wins in franchise history against the team. This decisive performance, following last season’s 127-92 blowout, has the Mavericks outscoring the Bulls by a record 55 points over their last two meetings.
Luka Dončić led the charge with 27 points, 13 assists, and four steals, marking his second consecutive game with double-digit assists. He now has 28 assists in two games, tying him for second-best league-wide. Kyrie Irving was right there with him, putting up 17 points and providing a scoring boost that kept the Mavericks ahead. The Mavericks’ defensive prowess shone as well, holding an opponent under 100 points for the second time this season and improving to 2-0 in such games.
Klay Thompson added 13 points with three 3-pointers, tying his best-ever eight-game start with threes. Daniel Gafford contributed 17 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks against his former team, rounding out a complete team effort.
For the Bulls, rookie Matas Buzelis showed potential with a career-high 13 points, his first NBA three-pointer, and personal bests in rebounds, steals, and blocks. While Chicago struggled, Buzelis’ performance gave Bulls fans a glimpse of his upside.
With Dončić and Irving leading a cohesive squad, Dallas is quickly proving to be a force this season, combining strong offense with lockdown defense.
