DALLAS, TEXAS — Dallas Trinity FC (4-1-5, 17 points) battled to a 0-0 draw against Spokane Zephyr FC (2-4-6, 12 points) on Wednesday night at Cotton Bowl Stadium, extending their unbeaten streak to six games. The defensive showcase, witnessed by 2,390 fans, also marked DTFC’s third clean sheet of the season and preserved their undefeated home record (2-0-3).

Goalkeeper Madison White once again proved instrumental, recording her third shutout of the year. The backline, led by standout performances from players like Jenna Winebrenner, ensured Spokane’s attack found no way through.

“Sometimes, you need to find a way to win or get something from the game,” said Head Coach Pauline MacDonald. “We defended our box well, especially in the second phase. There weren’t a lot of clear-cut chances for them. It’s not always pretty, but certain players dug deep to make sure we kept that clean sheet.”

Winebrenner emphasized the pride the team takes in its defensive efforts:
“I think we’ve been working well as a backline. It’s important for us to get clean sheets, and we take pride in that. To take a positive away from the match is a clean sheet. That’s the standard for us now, and we want to keep going that way.”

Despite the defensive success, Winebrenner acknowledged room for improvement. “We all know it wasn’t good enough,” she said. “We were able to come out with a point, but our locker room expects more. We’ll look to bounce back quickly with Saturday’s match.”

MacDonald also highlighted the importance of staying grounded as the team builds toward long-term goals. “Our goal is to make the championship 100%, but it’s important we don’t get carried away. We’re still early in building the club, the roster, and the culture. The good thing is we have a game coming up very quickly, which is the best way to move forward when you’re not happy with your performance.”

Dallas Trinity FC will next face Carolina Ascent FC (5-1-6, 21 points) on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 6:00 p.m. CT at American Legion Memorial Stadium. Fans can catch the match live on Peacock and USL on YouTube.
