FORT WORTH – TCU (6-4) extended its nonconference home win streak to 18 games Monday, defeating South Alabama (7-4), 58-49, at Schollmaier Arena. Behind Ernest Udeh Jr.’s double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds) and a stifling defense, the Horned Frogs held the Jaguars to just 33.3% shooting, including a mere 24% in the second half.
Despite missing key players Frankie Collins and Brendan Wenzel, TCU rallied late, led by Vasean Allette’s 14 points. The Frogs’ defense shined, holding South Alabama scoreless for nearly seven minutes in the second half.
TCU outrebounded the Jaguars 40-30 and overcame 13 ties and 15 lead changes. The Horned Frogs will host Montana State on Sunday at 1 p.m. on ESPN+ to close their nonconference schedule.
