DALLAS – In a franchise-altering move, the Dallas Mavericks have acquired 10-time All-Star Anthony Davis, guard Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round pick from the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Luka Dončić, Maxi Kleber, and Markieff Morris. The three-team trade also involved the Utah Jazz, who received Jalen Hood-Schifino and future second-round picks.
“This is a major shift for our organization,” Mavericks GM Nico Harrison said. “Luka meant so much to this team, but we believe Anthony’s championship experience and defensive presence will help us contend at the highest level.”
Davis, 31, brings elite two-way play, averaging 25.7 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks this season. Christie, a promising young guard, provides backcourt depth.
The move signals a fresh start for both franchises. Dončić, a five-time All-NBA selection, now leads the Lakers, while the Mavericks build around Davis in pursuit of another deep playoff run.
