DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Mavericks secured a 116-105 victory over the Houston Rockets, marking their first win against Houston this season and seventh in their last 10 matchups. The game also saw the Mavericks set a franchise record with 18 blocks, surpassing their previous high of 17 (2013).
Anthony Davis made an immediate impact in his Mavs debut, posting 26 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 blocks while shooting 10-18 from the field. His 16 rebounds set a new franchise record for most in a debut. Daniel Gafford (6 blocks), Davis (3), and P.J. Washington Jr. (3) made history as the first trio of Mavs starters with 3+ blocks in a game since 2000.
Dallas also held Houston to 40.0% from the field and 28.6% from three, remaining undefeated when limiting opponents under those marks this season.
