DALLAS, TEXAS — Spokane Zephyr FC secured its first win since Oct. 27 of last year, defeating Dallas Trinity FC 1-0.
A goal in this game was more than either side could say of themselves the last time they faced off in the Cotton Bowl, when it ended in a draw where neither side found the back of the net.
Spokane scored first in this game, in the 15th minute of its spring season debut. Emma Jaskaniec laid the ball off to fellow midfielder Katie Murray who was running on to it; Murray found the bottom left corner of goal using the inside of her foot.
Dallas controlled 60.9% of the possession, but Spokane outshot them 12-11; while only three of Spokane’s shots were on target, all they needed was that one to go in.
Dallas Trinity FC will return home for their next game to host Brooklyn FC on Sunday, March 9.–
