FORT WORTH, TEXAS — TCU controlled the game from the opening tip, defeating UCF 89-78 on Saturday afternoon at Schollmaier Arena. The Horned Frogs (16-13, 9-9) raced out to a 15-4 lead and never trailed, building a 49-30 halftime advantage — their highest-scoring first half since the season opener.
Vasean Allette led TCU with 17 points, seven rebounds, and a career-high-tying nine assists. Ernest Udeh Jr. added 16 points and 11 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season.
UCF (15-14, 6-12) cut the deficit to nine late, but TCU’s defense held strong down the stretch. David Punch (14 points), Micah Robinson (12), and Jace Posey (10) also scored in double figures.
The Frogs, now 14-2 at home, will close their home schedule Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Baylor on ESPN+.
