Renegades Crush Brahmas 33-9 in Season Opener

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Arlington Renegades (1-0) kicked off their 2025 season with a statement win, steamrolling the San Antonio Brahmas (0-1) in a 33-9 rout at Choctaw Stadium.

RB De’Veon Smith powered the offense with three rushing touchdowns, tying a UFL single-game record, while RB Kalen Ballage torched the defense with 110 rushing yards on just nine carries, including a dazzling 77-yard touchdown run. QB Luis Perez kept the offense humming, completing 20 of 25 passes for 164 yards.

Arlington’s defense was relentless, shutting down the Brahmas and holding them to just nine points—the fewest allowed by the Renegades since April 2024. San Antonio’s struggles continued with costly penalties and failed conversions, while Arlington capitalized on key plays and went 3-for-4 on two-point attempts.

Even with a late fourth-down touchdown, the Brahmas couldn’t close the gap. Their attempt to retain possession under the UFL’s new fourth-and-12 rule failed, and the Renegades iced the game with a final field goal.

Arlington looks to keep the momentum going as they host the Houston Roughnecks (0-1) on April 6 at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN.
