CINCINNATI, OH — Nathan Eovaldi was in control Tuesday night, throwing a complete-game shutout to help the Texas Rangers secure a 1-0 win against the Cincinnati Reds. The veteran right-hander gave up just four hits, struck out eight, and didn’t walk a single batter, finishing the game in only 99 pitches. This marks the first complete game of the season in Major League Baseball.
Texas got on the board early when Wyatt Langford hit a solo home run in the first inning off Carson Spiers (0-1), giving the Rangers a lead they would never relinquish.
Eovaldi’s stellar outing helped the Rangers bounce back and keep their momentum going after a tough stretch, solidifying his place as the ace of their staff.
