FRISCo, TEXAS — FC Dallas will face the Seattle Sounders FC this Saturday, April 12, at Toyota Stadium, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. CT. The teams meet after a dramatic encounter last June, when Seattle came from behind to win 3-2 at Lumen Field. Dallas held a 2-0 lead late, thanks to second-half goals from Patrickson Delgado and Petar Musa, but Seattle mounted a stunning comeback with Raúl RuidÃaz’s 78th-minute strike and a Jordan Morris brace in the 88th and stoppage time.
The Sounders will be finishing a three-match road trip before returning to Lumen Field on April 19. However, they come into the match dealing with a number of injury concerns. With Paul Arriola out for the season (knee) and Jordan Morris still questionable (hamstring), Seattle’s injury woes continued last weekend, with Alex Roldan (quad) and Albert Rusnák (adductor) both suffering injuries. As of Tuesday, Head Coach Brian Schmetzer did not rule them out for this weekend, but their statuses remain uncertain.
A notable subplot for Saturday’s matchup is the return of Jesús Ferreira to Frisco. The FC Dallas Homegrown forward, who was acquired by Seattle in the offseason, will return to his former team for the first time since his move. Ferreira, the son of Dallas legend David Ferreira, scored 53 goals and added 34 assists during his eight seasons with the Texans. This marks a significant reunion as Ferreira faces the team he once helped lead.
