DALLAS, TEXAS — Connor Hellebuyck was locked in on Thursday night, stopping all 24 shots he faced to notch his NHL-best eighth shutout and a single-season franchise record 45th win, as the Winnipeg Jets rolled past the Dallas Stars 4-0.
Kyle Connor scored twice in the third period, hitting the 40-goal mark, while Nino Niederreiter and Morgan Barron also chipped in goals. With the win, Winnipeg improved to 54-21-4 (112 points) and now needs just one more point over its final three games to clinch the top seed in the Western Conference for the first time.
Dallas, sitting at 50-23-6 with 106 points, has hit a rough patch with an 0-2-2 skid. Still, the Stars locked in home-ice advantage for the opening round of the playoffs after Colorado fell to Vancouver later in the night.
Next up, Dallas hosts Utah in its final home game of the regular season.
