Renegades Drop First Game of Season in 10-9 Loss to Stallions

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA — The Arlington Renegades (2-1) suffered a tough 10-9 loss to the Birmingham Stallions (2-1) on Friday night, ending their unbeaten run.

Arlington’s defense set the tone early with a Joe Powell interception and a fumble recovery in the end zone by Ajene Harris. Three first-half field goals from Lucas Havrisik gave the Renegades a 9-0 lead at halftime — the first time Birmingham had been shut out in a home half.

The Stallions battled back with a third-quarter field goal, then scored the game’s only touchdown with 26 seconds left. A successful one-point conversion put them ahead for good.

Luis Perez threw for 208 yards on 26-of-38 passing. Cannella led with 52 receiving yards, while Harris posted nine tackles.

Arlington hosts the undefeated St. Louis Battlehawks on Saturday, April 19 at 11:30 a.m. CT on ABC.
