FRISCO, TEXAS — The Cowboys’ offseason officially shifted into gear Monday as players reported for voluntary OTAs, marking the first on-field work under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
All eyes were on Micah Parsons, who showed up as promised despite ongoing contract discussions. His early arrival sets the tone for a locker room adjusting to change and speaks volumes about his leadership heading into Year 5.
Quarterback Dak Prescott was also on hand, continuing rehab from the hamstring injury that cut his 2024 season short. Others present included DaRon Bland, KaVontae Turpin — fresh off a new deal — tight end Jake Ferguson, rookie Cooper Beebe, safety Juanyeh Thomas, and veteran defensive lineman Solomon Thomas.
Though league rules allowed teams with new coaches to start last week, Schottenheimer delayed the launch to allow his staff more time to install new systems. With a full reset across all three phases, Day 1 was less about urgency — and more about laying the foundation.
