SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Klay Thompson redeemed himself in a big way Wednesday night, scoring 16 of his 23 points in a red-hot second quarter to fuel the Mavericks’ 120-106 Play-In Tournament win over the Kings.
A year after a rough outing in the same building, Thompson found his rhythm early and never looked back, helping Dallas take control and advance.
Anthony Davis added a dominant 27-point performance, overpowering the Kings in the paint and keeping the Mavericks’ postseason hopes alive with a statement win on the road.
With the victory, Dallas moves on to face the Memphis Grizzlies in the next round of the Play-In Tournament.
