A draw for DTFC and Fort Lauderdale United FC

DALLAS, TEXAS — A 1-1 draw between Dallas Trinity FC and Fort Lauderdale United FC was the result at the Cotton Bowl.

Allie Thornton, the first player in USL Super League history to record double digits goals and the league’s leading goal scorer, got the 10th of her career and the game’s first to put DTFC on the board three minutes in.

But Fort Lauderdale answered 30 minutes later.

A Fort Lauderdale free kick bounced around the top of the box before Jorian Baucom put some paper behind a shot—it hit off the goal post into the back of Madison White, before Kiara Locklear followed it up to settle the score even before heading into the half.

That scoreline would remain the same through the final whistle.

DTFC is now 5-2-5 at home this season; Dallas led Fort Lauderdale in total shots (18-14) and had four shots on target.

Dallas will stay home to host Lexington SC, next.
