DALLAS, TEXAS – We sit down with Dallas Stars right wing Mikael Granlund for an exclusive one-on-one interview as the team gears up for a deep playoff run. The veteran forward opens up about adjusting to his new team, building chemistry in the locker room, and the mindset heading into the postseason.
Granlund brings a wealth of experience to Dallas, having previously played professionally in Finland with Oulun Kärpät and HIFK of the SM-liiga before making his mark in the NHL with the Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins, and San Jose Sharks. Selected 9th overall by the Wild in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Granlund has carved out a career defined by grit, intelligence, and playmaking ability.
On February 1, 2025, Granlund was traded to the Stars alongside defenseman Cody Ceci in a pivotal move that sent a first-round pick and a conditional third-rounder in the 2025 NHL Draft the other way. Since arriving in Dallas, he’s quickly become a reliable piece in the Stars’ lineup as they chase Lord Stanley’s Cup.
