ARLINGTON, Texas — Arlington Renegades cornerback Ajene Harris has been named the Ortho® Defensive Player of the Week following a standout performance that sealed a thrilling Week 4 win in the United Football League.
With 36 seconds left on the clock and the St. Louis offense driving to tie the game, Harris came through in a massive way—intercepting quarterback Max Duggan in the end zone and returning it 102 yards for a touchdown. The play not only clinched the victory for Arlington but also marked the longest interception return in UFL history.
Harris’ impact went far beyond the record-breaking play. He finished the game with eight tackles, including seven solo stops, and added two pass breakups, anchoring a defense that rose to the occasion in the game’s final moments.
According to SkillCorner, which provides data for the league’s new FAST (Football Advancement through Sports Technology) initiative, Harris hit a top speed of 19.90 mph during the return—underscoring the athleticism behind the highlight-reel moment.
This marks the first time Harris has earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, as he continues to emerge as one of the top defenders in the UFL.
