D210SPORTSTV seeks talented Sports Reporter to cover professional soccer club FC Dallas.
If you have the passion and can-do attitude and a willingness to learn how to improve your craft, this could be the opportunity for you to enter the exciting world of sports journalism. Our group provides substantial training opportunities and editorial support from a team of award-winning sports journalists and photographers.
Some prior writing experience, be it high school or college journalism or remote sports blogging, is preferred. Candidates are expected to knowledge of Soccer. You’ll keep and report basic stats, interview coaches and players and write clear and compelling game recap stories. This position will also be responsible for developing feature stories highlighting FC Dallas athletes and coaches throughout the year. Basic photography skills are a strong plus.
This person will be expected to be active on social media and have the ability to promote their stories to generate audience engagement.
Candidates should be self-driven, deadline oriented, and able to cover games and meets in the evening and on weekends as required, submitting stories and photos within a short time after the conclusion of each game and practice. You must be able to work independently, without constant direct supervision while also being able to function as a contributing member of our online website staff. Varied hours are required. Candidates should have reliable transportation and be available to meet these requirements.
